§ 01 · What we believe

AI is changing how work gets done.
It is not changing the fact
that work belongs to people.

The businesses that win with AI over the next five years won’t be the ones that automate the most. They’ll be the ones whose people become more capable, more effective, and more confident because of AI, not replaced by it.

That’s what we build.

  1. 01

Diagnose the work before prescribing the tool.

No recommendations until we have seen how your team actually operates.

  2. 02

    Augment judgment, don’t replace it.

AI drafts, surfaces, suggests. Humans decide and act.

  3. 03

Build with your team, not around them.

The people doing the work are partners in building the systems they’ll use.

  4. 04

    Vendor-agnostic, tool-agnostic.

We recommend what fits your situation, not what pays us referral fees.

  5. 05

    Transparent by default.

If we would hide how it works, we are building it wrong.

§ 02 · Who we serve

Built for the organizations that actually
run the BC Interior economy.

Owner-operated businesses. If you’re $2–20M and owner-operated, we’re built for you.

Honest disclaimer

If you need an enterprise consultancy with a 50-page SOW and a six-month onboarding, we’re not your firm, and we’ll tell you honestly.

§ 03 · How we work

The Throughcraft Method.

Phase 1 · Diagnostic

See the work before prescribing a tool.

Note

Many clients pause here to build foundations. That is the right call.

§ 04 · Engagements

Clear pricing. No retainer games.

EngagementInvestmentTimeline

Written opportunity report. Often where clients start.

Prep work: SOPs, data, tool consolidation, baselines.

  3. BuildOperations platform · Owned venture

We ship the method
on ourselves first.

Before we recommend anything to you, we run it through a business we own.

Indoor Golf Studios designs, sells, and installs golf simulator rooms across the BC Interior. It is also the proving ground for everything we build at Throughcraft.

We ran our four-phase Method on the company through 2026. The diagnostic was clear: the bottleneck was not sales, it was the handoff from quote to install. Six tools, three spreadsheets, and a shared inbox. Fixable.

Foundation cleaned the data, consolidated the pricing model, and made the deal record the single source of truth. Implementation shipped a custom platform: quote-to-install pipeline, client portal, e-signed proposals, Stripe deposits, install scheduling, and as-built records. The operator owns it. We just maintain it.

What we shipped
  1. 01

    Deal pipeline

Lead → quote → contract → install, in one record.

  2. 02

    Customer portal

    Approvals, file vault, as-built docs.

  3. 03

    E-signature

    Provider-generic flow, DocuSeal today.

  4. 04

    Stripe deposits

    Deposit-only payments with webhooks.

  5. 05

    Install workflow

    Scheduling, photos, sign-off.

  6. 06

    Row-level security

Staff and client access scoped in Postgres.

Honest disclaimer

We own this one. We are not a hired vendor pretending to be neutral. We ship the work on ourselves so when we recommend something for your team, we have already lived with the consequences.

Small, senior-led,
committed to the region.

Brendan McCaskell is co-founder of Open Owl Studios, a Kelowna-based board game publisher fulfilling globally in 13+ languages, and founder of Indoor Golf Studios, a simulator installation business serving the BC Interior. Before founding Throughcraft, he built and shipped internal AI platforms at both companies — systems that triage operations, draft communications, and run in production every day.

The AI landscape is loud and changing weekly. Our job is to help owners find the path through it that fits their business.
